Preventing burglary attack on euro cylinders
Shown in the photograph is a euro cylinder fitted on a upvc door that we recently attended for a repair where a burglar had attempted to gain entry.
In this instance the burglar attempted to first break the cylinder then drill it out as you can see from the image.
On this occasion they failed to gain entry.
This is fast becoming a problem for homeowners who have these older type locks fitted in particular where they will snap the cylinders if they protrude from the handles due to the wrong sizes being fitted or attempt to drill them out.
What can you do to protect against an attack on a door like this ?
Paul Easton locksmiths can supply and fit cylinders that are both snap resistant and drill resistant.
The one we supply is the Yale Superior euro double cylinder is anti bump, anti pick, anti drill and anti snap on both sides as well as having been tested to TS007 1* kite marked standard and being secured-by-design approved.
They retail at £38.00 each approximately depending on size and how many keys are required. They come with 3 keys as standard but we can order more.
Fitting is £45.00 local to Chepstow and Caldicot for up to 2 doors, normally front and back doors.
These cylinders are virtually impossible to remove by force in order to open a door.
